//Tell us how you first met? who what when where why? give us the dirty details.

Ryan and Ali became friends early in high school.  They parted ways after high school graduation when Ali went to Texas Christian University and Ryan attended Mizzou.  The two remained acquaintances and hung out over college breaks, but it was not the right time to pursue anything more than friendship… Until August of 2012.  In August, Ryan and Ali decided to hang out again as friends… or so they thought.  They quickly realized there was something special between them.  Before long, there was talk of marriage.  The two feel so blessed to experience something God has been preparing for a long time.

//When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.

From Ryan’s perspective
Ali is the most amazing girl I have met.  She is very loving and caring to all in her life.  She is always thinking about other people and how she can help out.  Ali is also incredibly smart.  I love discussing perplexing issues with her because she always has a thoughtful opinion or response. Also, Ali’s faith is strong which pushes me to continue to grow this area of my life.  Lastly, Ali has the best sense of humor of any girl I know.  I love her jokes and she makes me laugh regularly.  Also, she laughs at most of my jokes which is a good thing (no matter whether her laughs are real or fake).  By our third date, I knew there was something special.  We were having the best night just walking around the streets of downtown St. Louis after a Cardinals game.  We were talking, laughing, and just enjoying each others’ company.  After that night, I knew I would enjoy being with Ali no matter what we were doing.

From Ali’s perspective
Ryan is the greatest man I know.  I love his smile and I love the way he makes me smile.  Ryan is family-oriented, quick-witted, thoughtful, funny, kind and he loves dogs!  He is actively growing in his faith independent of me, but I love that he opens up to me about what he is learning about God.  He helps out without being asked.  He strives to be excellent in everything he does.  He is hard working and loves to have fun.  He is unbelievably sweet, but not too corny.  He is strong and confident, but also very respectful.  Ryan is the perfect combination for me and I could never have imagined such an amazing man existed.  I am so blessed to be his future wife.

//Tell us about the proposal.

When Ryan said the “L-word”, I wasn’t terrified (which was surprising and awesome).  We quickly talked about our future together.  We realized that we were ready to commit to each other and started thinking about a timeline.  We thought about how long we needed to wait so that people didn’t think we were crazy… Then we realized it doesn’t really matter what people think.  We were completely in love and ready to make that step.  We had been dating a little over 2 months when we got engaged.  Ryan and I went and picked out the ring.  He wanted to do something very romantic for the proposal, but I told him I didn’t want to wait for him to come up with a romantic plan.  I told him that the things he said to me everyday are better than most of the engagement stories I hear.  I explained that I would rather have him continue being amazing daily than come up with a one time romantic proposal.  So, one afternoon in late October, Ryan came over, gave me 2 dozen roses, told me several reasons he wanted to marry me, got on a knee and popped the question!  I said YES before he even showed me the AMAZINGLY beautiful ring!

//Tell is the one thing you love most about each other.

I don’t know if I can narrow it down to one thing… I love the way he loves me for who I am and the way he makes me smile and giggle.

//Besides getting married – whats the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

I am looking forward to seeing Ryan’s face as I walk down the aisle toward him!
